About Us
ICFP is built around the idea that changing the world starts with one simple thing: caring for people.
We are an India-based nonprofit that is pioneering a model of holistic community transformation catalyzed by equipping local Indigenous leaders to build individualized solutions to systemic issues within their own communities. We believe the future of developmental aid is collaborative and community-led. Our ultimate goal is to equip some of the most hard-to-reach impoverished communities towards self-sustaining transformation through education, economic empowerment, and locally-led development projects.
To do this, we rely on our global community coming together to advance and support the holistic development projects that we are equipping local, Indigenous and women leaders to implement in their own communities across India. These range from building training and vocational centers, to mental health care, clean water solutions, and much more.

Our Core Values
- People first: Regardless of our background, politics, identity, or faith, ICFP is a place where we unite around the idea that people come first and are worthy of being cared for.
- Community-oriented: We focus on creating a community through our development and aid programs. Instead of hiring teams for these projects, we work with communities on the ground to build these out together.
- Contextualization: ICFP is constantly striving to meet practical needs in a culturally relevant way through innovative solutions. We are incredibly intentional about not duplicating Western aid models in our field countries. With every project, we seek to co-create programs around the specific region, tribe, or culture in order for it to truly be a local project for the local people.
- Indigenous-led: All work in our Field and Partner Countries is governed, operated, and managed by local, Indigenous Leaders. Our commitment is to accept and support the ideas, methods, and priorities of the Indigenous leaders – we choose to empower one another, never to ‘use’ each other.
- Women-centered: Our model of engaging local women leaders is critical because women in India are the backbone of their communities, but many do not have access to education or the job skills they need to transform their future. Empowering women and equipping them with the skills they need to be financially independent is one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of poverty, decrease gender-based violence, and lift entire communities.
- Holistic development: Rather than specializing in addressing one specific issue in underprivileged communities, the ICFP model focuses on holistic development through training and equipping local leaders to identify and address problems within their communities.
- Prioritizing the most underserved: Our priority is always to reach the most remote people in India. The greatest injustice in the world is that some people have easy access to necessities and other aid while millions have little or no access. We believe we have greater responsibility and obligation to those who do not have access to basic necessities.
- Self-sustaining: Our ultimate aim is to bring transformation to individuals and communities, enabling them to achieve holistic development towards self-sustainability in the long run.
Our Story
Every community has a story and something that has brought it together. Ours is pretty simple. As a team, we found our commonalities:a desire to share kindness and wanting the best for everyone around the globe.
When we decided to launch I Care For People, we had two goals: expanding and empowering local change-makers to solve issues within their own communities and finding like-minded people around the world to support and engage with us in this work.
We all have a place in the ICFP community. Whether you follow and engage with us on social media, are highlighted on our community page, or contribute your talents and resources, you have something unique to share in our broader mission to spread kindness and eradicate poverty worldwide.
